Cooperative Approaches and Academic Motivation towards Enhancing Pre-Service Teachers’ Achievement

This paper describes a quantitative study that explores both the degree of preservice teachers’ (PSTs) motivation and achievement, dimensions need-supportive teaching, when PSTs were involved in designing implementing contextualized physical cooperative challenges (CPCCs) primary schools. The analysis was based on PSTs’ perceptions teaching (namely autonomy support, structure, involvement), motivation. Need-supportive evaluated through version Teacher as Social Context Questionnaire (TASC-Q), SMOTIV questionnaire. Results showed process all positively correlated, thus, implying importance teacher’s role supporting autonomy, providing being involved. While during in-class definition CPCCs correlated with involvement, out-of-class implementation found to correlate three PST students’ developing instructional approaches schools is mediated by their university teachers play defining structuring aspects process. Students’ other hand, relied synergies between involvement student stage classroom environment defined. interlink responds constructivist position adopted implement approach that, turn, assessing student-centered cooperative-based learning approach.
